Cimaja is a small coastal town, about 10 km west of the town Pelabuhan Ratu, a fishing port on the south coast of West Java, south of Jakarta.

Cimaja is a great spot for holiday or a weekend away.  Surfers, travellers, and families can unwind and enjoy the great waves, tropical beaches and sunsets.  And the locals are very friendly and hospitable.

Local public transport around Cimaja is via angkots or bemos (small blue vans).  There are also ojeks (motorbike taxis).  Another great option is to rent a motorbike or scooter.

We can arrange motorbikes, with surfboard racks, for around Rp 70,000 per day.  Please take care on your bike!  We can also organise drivers if you want to explore the countryside or go somewhere further afield.

Nowadays there are some nice restaurants that do serve Western food.  But there are also places that serve local delicacies such as nasi goreng or soto ayam, and at really great prices.

And there’s always beautiful fresh tropical fruit available, such as coconuts, mangoes, pineapples, rambutans and other exotic delights.

The Alfamart and Indomaret are both very close to the homestay.  They both have ATMs and just about everything you need at any time of the day.
